Connect to WiFi
Make sure you're connected to a stable WiFi network. The eSIM profile download uses 1-5 MB.
Installation Guide
Works on iPhone XS+, Google Pixel 3+, Samsung Galaxy S20+ and most Android phones since 2019. No apps, no shipping, no waiting.
Before you start
Most phones sold since 2019 support eSIM. If you're not sure, our tool confirms it in 30 seconds.
Check my phone →Make sure you're connected to a stable WiFi network. The eSIM profile download uses 1-5 MB.
On your iPhone, go to Settings > Cellular > Add Cellular Plan.
It will ask you to scan a QR. Open the Moviliza+ email from another screen (laptop, tablet) or use the iPhone camera to scan the attached QR.
When prompted, add a name to identify the eSIM (e.g. "Japan", "Europe", "USA").
The system asks you which line to use for data. Choose the new eSIM. For calls and SMS you can keep your original line.
It won't connect yet. The eSIM activates itself when it detects a network in the destination country. As soon as you get off the plane, turn on "Cellular Data" and you're set.
Same as on iPhone: you need WiFi to download the eSIM profile.
It depends on the manufacturer, but the general path is: Settings > Connections > Mobile networks > Add eSIM or Download SIM card.
Scan the QR sent by email from Moviliza+. If your Android has no scanner, some models let you enter the code manually.
Accept the terms. The system installs the profile. Some models require a restart.
The eSIM automatically connects when it detects a network in the destination country. Make sure you have "Data roaming" turned on in Settings.
Something not working?
Check that you're connected to WiFi and that the QR is fully visible on screen (not cut, not pixelated). If you still can't, contact us on WhatsApp and we'll send you a manual activation code.
This is normal if you're not yet in the destination country. The eSIM activates when it detects a local network. If you're already in the country: 1) check that "Cellular Data" is on, 2) check that "Data Roaming" is enabled, 3) restart the phone.
No. Each eSIM is tied to the device where it was installed. If you need to change it, contact us and we'll issue a new one at no cost.
The QR can only be scanned once for security. If you couldn't complete the installation, contact us to reset it.
On iPhone: Settings > Cellular > Default Voice Line > choose the eSIM. On Android: Settings > Mobile networks > Mobile data > choose the eSIM. You can keep calls on your original line.
Like any SIM, the eSIM consumes some additional battery (typically 5-10%). To minimize: disable the eSIM when you're not using it and reactivate it when you arrive in the next country.
Yes, most phones allow saving 5-10 eSIM profiles, although only one or two can be active at a time. If you buy a regional plan + a local one, you can alternate based on the country.
Some regional models (especially from mainland China or Japan) come without eSIM by manufacturer decision. Check the Settings > About phone menu for "EID" (it's the eSIM identifier). If it doesn't appear, your model does not support eSIM.
